Why Honda Discontinued The NSX (Twice!)

What do a Ferrari 348, Lotus Esprit Turbo, and a Porsche 911 have in common? They all had their behinds kicked on a Car and Driver test track by the Acura NSX when it debuted in 1990. Despite being Gordon Murray’s ultimate muse and forcing Ferrari to step up their game, the first-generation NSX fell short at the box office. Unfortunately, the same can be said about its modern successor.
